Thanks to the generosity of the parents and friends of Sacred Heart Grade School, the
first three Share Your Heart Gala events raised more than $200,000. These funds were used to remodel the school restrooms, replace all of the students' desks, purchase new tables and chairs for the cafeteria, and purchase new Smart Boards for all of our classrooms.
The fourth annual Share Your Heart Gala is set for Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 6:30 pm. Hosted at Berry Hills Country Club, the fun-filled evening for adults will feature food, silent and live auctions, and raffles.
Nick Casey and his daughter, our Reading Center teacher, Erin Casey
will be this year's auctioneers.
The Boomers will perform for guests’ dancing and listening pleasure.
Wine and beer will be complimentary at the gala. Thanks to generous donors, guests can enjoy these without opening their wallets. Liquor drinks can be purchased from the bar. As always, soft drinks are available at no charge.
Our 2012 event presents the opportunity to raise money that will go toward Phase II of Gift of the Present -
Hope for the Future Capital Campaign. Nick Casey, co-chair of the campaign says, "I am proud to report
that Phase I is underway. The basketball gym/ Parish Activity and infant day care building is under
construction. We hope to dedicate the completed building in time for the 2012-2013 school year. Phase II is
now in the fund raising stage and the work will start as the money is raised. Phase II is merging the
existing grade school building and the 7 story adjoining building known as “1033 Quarrier” into one
integrated structure. The 7 floors will be renovated into class room space, other spaces and bathrooms.
Existing school hallways will be extended into 1033 Quarrier so that all access will continue, as it is now,
through the Leon Sullivan Way grade school entrance. Teachers and other staff will use the new class room
space so there will be constant supervision in the new areas. This additional space will allow for not just
classroom space but for educational project work areas, a theater/stage space, storage and an elevator that
will serve all floors of the existing building as well as 1033 Quarrier. The cost is estimated at under $2
million dollars. Generous 3 year pledges have been made and are still being solicited. The Gala
Committee is dedicating funds from this year’s event to the project. Please consider your own generous
pledge to the project. Our Sacred Heart School Community along with the Parish Community have already
made the gym and infant day care a reality. Our small community can do great things, but remember it is
only our small community that is committed to these projects. If we don’t support it financially with our
generous pledges there is no one else to support it. Consider a 3 year pledge. For the monthly price of
many peoples’ cable TV bill a 3 year pledge of $4000 is possible. One donor pledged $1 million, some
pledged $100,000 and many pledged $4000. Please consider such a pledge as your way of making the Gala a
